Mavericks Host Home Event This Week

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team returns to action at home this week, hosting the Maverick Invitational at The Creek on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 12-13.
The tournament features 27 holes each day beginning at 8:30 at The Club at Indian Creek in Elkhorn, Neb.
The Mavericks opened the fall with a second-place finish at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate two weeks ago. They shot a team score of 632, putting them four strokes behind Morningside which won the event. Host Iowa Western took third at 636.
Mandi Granato and Hannah Hunke shot scores of 157 for the 36-hole event, putting them in a tie for sixth overall in the field of 34 golfers.
Freshman Jinna Boonbumroongsuk was two strokes back at 159, good for eighth place. Zora Gittens was fourth on the team and 11th overall with a total score of 163. Brynn Sundquist wrapped up the team scoring by shooting a total score of 165.
A trio of Mavericks played as individuals in the tournament. Izzi Puk shot a total of 167, Mika Miyata closed with a score of 171, and Cassidy Ulrich shot a score of 181.
Following action this week, the Mavericks will finish the fall schedule at the Payne Stewart Intercollegiate at Missouri State on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19-20.
