SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Marlon Ruffin was named the first Summit League Player of the Week of 2020-21, the league office announced Monday. It marks the first weekly award of his career.
Ruffin earned a spot on the Gulf Coast Showcase all-tournament team after averaging 16.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game. The junior had three straight double-figure scoring performances to open the season, all off the bench.
Ruffin was Omaha's leading scorer in the first two games with 20 points against Austin Peay and 18 points against Middle Tennessee. He finished 18-of-19 at the free throw line for the week.
