Lorentz Named Academic All-League

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Junior Natalie Lorentz garnered her first-career Academic All-League honor for her performances over the 2020 spring season.
The team is determined by a vote of faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors from the league's member institutions.
Lorentz, who was an All-Summit honoree last year, finished the season with a 7-6 record in singles play and a 9-5 doubles record. The St. Louis Park, Minn., native also earned back-to-back Summit League Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors Feb. 4 and Feb. 11 of this year.
From Jan. 31 – Feb. 9, Lorentz won four-straight singles matches and saw several winning streaks in doubles play. From Feb. 1 – 9, the junior won three-straight doubles matches and later won four-straight from Feb. 28 – March 7 at the No. 2 spot. As a team, Omaha finished with its best start in the Division I era and went a perfect 5-0 at home on the season.
A biology major, Lorentz holds a 3.62 grade-point average.
To be eligible for Academic All-Summit recognition, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of her team's competitions.
