Omaha Soccer Programs Take Part in Soccer United Against Hunger Project

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's soccer team has created the Soccer United Against Hunger Project, bringing the soccer community together and featuring over 500 men's and women's soccer programs collecting monetary and food support for local food banks in response to shortages due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Mavericks are joining soccer teams from Creighton, Bellevue, Midland, Iowa Western and College of Saint Mary to hold four drop-off locations in the Omaha area from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4.
Coaches and players will be collecting food items and monetary donations to support local food banks with food shortage problems created by the pandemic. Donations can be dropped off at the following four locations:
College soccer coaches and teams from across the country are uniting in a fighting against hunger during the COVID-19 pandemic. Soccer United Against Hunger, powered by United Soccer Coaches, is a nationwide food drive spearheaded by NCAA Division I men's and women's soccer coaches that will take place throughout the month of June.
"The men, women, boys and girls who love soccer and have a heart for helping others in their community are joining us and are going to make a difference in the month of June," added Warming. "We are going to demonstrate that soccer can be more than a great sport to play and watch. We are leaders who care deeply about our community."
