OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team has reached new heights in the weekly college hockey polls, earning a spot in the top 10 in each.
The Mavericks are ranked ninth in the latest poll from USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine and 10th in the USCHO.com poll.
The last time the Mavericks got this high in the national rankings was January of 2016. They debuted in the USCHO.com top-20 poll on Dec. 7 and have been there since then. They've been ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll for four weeks, first entering that top-15 ranking on Dec. 21.
Omaha is 6-3-1 overall and 6-3-1-1-0 (1) in the NCHC, putting it in fourth place. The Mavericks have not played since the conclusion of the NCHC Pod at Baxter Arena on Dec. 21 due to COVID-19 protocols.
The Mavericks are scheduled to visit Colorado College for games on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15-16. Game dates and time are subject to change.
