OMAHA, Neb. – Andrea Daves and Margaret LaVigne were named to the Summit League's Preseason Players to Watch List, the league office announced Tuesday.
LaVigne enters her junior campaign after earning Second Team All-Summit honors as a sophomore in 2019. The Saint Louis, Mo., native started all 18 matches last season and anchored a Maverick defense that held opponents to one goal or less in 13 matches. LaVigne totaled three points with a goal and an assist while playing a team-high 1,674 minutes last season.
Daves saw action in 16 matches, including 14 starts for the Mavericks in 2019. The Denver, Colo., native totaled 1,072 minutes on the season while playing a season-high 96 minutes at Drake. As a sophomore in 2018, Daves ranked fifth in the Summit League with six assists on the season.
The Mavericks open the season vs. South Dakota State on Friday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at Caniglia Field. At the conclusion of the regular season, Omaha will host the Summit League Women's Soccer Championship at Caniglia Field on April, 15-17.
