
Mavericks Stay in Omaha for Creighton Classic

Omaha, Neb. - The Omaha women's golf team returns to action in Omaha this week at the Creighton Classic on Monday and Tuesday, October 11-12.Â
The Mavericks tee up at 9 a.m. at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha. Creighton is hosting the four team invite. Saint Thomas and Iowa Western make up the field. There will be no live scoring during the 54-hole event.Â
At the home invite last week, Omaha shot a total score of 926 and finished in 4th place. Â
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk led he team with a total of 226 at the Stampede. The sophomore shot a career best two-under in the second round at Indian Creek, and finished with a career high 5th place on the leaderboard.Â
Junior Mandi Granato finished second on the team with 231 over three rounds. She ended the tournament in 15th place.Â
Sydney Taake ended the invite in a tie for 20th place. The freshman finished the event with a score of 232. Â
Mika Miyata finished the Stampede with a total score of 237. The sophomore tied for 25th place overall.Â
Zora Gittens finished with a total score of 260 for the tournament. The senior placed 47th place on the leaderboard. Â
Golfing individually, Freshmen Emma Kirvan finished the tournament with a total score of 246 and Maddie Simon ended with a score of 251.Â
Junior Izzi Puk shot a total score of 253, and senior Cassidy Ulrich finished the invite with a score of 261.Â
After the invite in Omaha, the Mavericks are back on the road next week at the Wollenberg-Ptarmigan Classic at Colorado State. That will be the last tournament of the fall season, taking place Monday and Tuesday, October 18-19.Â
