OMAHA, Neb. -- The field has been set for next week's 2021 Summit League Men's Basketball Championship, the league office announced Sunday night. No. 8-seeded Omaha is set to compete at the tournament, March 6-9 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. The tournament champion advances to the NCAA Tournament with the league's automatic bid.
The Mavericks earned their sixth straight tournament appearance in as many years eligible for postseason play. They will face top-seeded South Dakota State on Saturday, March 6 at 5:45 p.m. SDSU enters the tournament having claimed its fourth straight regular-season title.
South Dakota secured the No. 2 seed and will take on No. 7 seed Western Illinois Saturday in the second quarterfinal at 8:45 p.m.
On Sunday, the quarterfinal round continues with No. 4 seed Oral Roberts and fifth-seeded North Dakota at 5:45 p.m. No. 3 seed North Dakota State faces No. 6 seed Kansas City at 8:45 p.m. to conclude the first two days of play.
Monday's semifinals begin with the winner of the South Dakota State/Omaha matchup vs. the winner of the Oral Roberts/North Dakota clash at 5:45 p.m. The winners of South Dakota/Western Illinois and North Dakota State/Kansas City contests follow at 8:45 p.m.
All four quarterfinals and both semifinals air on Midco Sports Network and will be streamed on Midco Sports Plus and ESPN+.
Tuesday's championship game is set for 8 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPN2 and available on WatchESPN.com and the ESPN app.
