Mavericks Tie For 13th at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Omaha men's golf team finished in a tie for 13th place at the GCU Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
The Mavericks closed the 54-hole tournament with a team score of 302 to finish at 882. That tied them with Summit League neighbor South Dakota in the 16-team field.
Wichita State won the event with a score of 862, two strokes ahead of Southern Mississippi. Host Grand Canyon was third at 866.
Junior Noah Hartman led the Mavericks in scoring with a total of 219, the lowest 54-hole score shot by a Maverick this season. His total included a final-round tally of 77 that helped put him a tie for 32nd overall in the field of 93 players.
Jacob Zerby was second on the team and in a tie for 37th overall with a score of 220. He shot a 73 on Tuesday, the low round by a Maverick.
Zerby finished two strokes ahead of teammate Josh Bartels who closed with a round of 76 to post a total of 222. He tied for 45th place.
Josh Peters was fourth on the team and in a tie for 63rd with a score of 225 that included a final round of 76.
Mathew Halvorson finished the scoring for the Mavericks with a total of 227. He shot 79 on day two and tied for 73rd overall.
The Mavericks return to action on Monday and Tuesday, March 22-23 at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate hosted by Missouri State.
