KIRKWOOD, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team took 14th place at the Diane Daugherty Invite hosted by Southern Illinois on Tuesday.
The Mavericks fired a final-round team score of 329 to finish the 54-hole tournament with a score of 980.
Arkansas State won the event with a score of 914. South Dakota was second at 916, and Illinois State took third at 923.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk was UNO's top finisher with a score of 239. She closed the tournament with a round of 80 and finished in a tie for 35th in the field of 90 golfers.
Zora Gittens was second on the team and tied for 53rd overall with a score of 244. She shot 82 in round three.
Gittens finished three strokes ahead of teammate Mika Miyata, playing her first tournament of the spring, who closed with a round of 84. Her final total of 247 was good for a tie for 61st.
Mandi Granato was fourth on the team with a total of 252 that included a final round of 85. She tied for 74th.
Hannah Hunke finished the scoring for UNO. She carded an 83 in round three for a total of 257.
The Mavericks return to action quickly, competing the Beau Mussatto Invitational at Western Illinois on Sunday and Monday, April 4-5.
