Mavericks Head to Texas For Spring Opener

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team will begin its spring season at the UTRGV Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 8-9, in McAllen, Texas.
The tournament, the first of six this spring, will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 more on Tuesday from the McAllen Country Club. The teams will tee off at 8:30 a.m. each day.
The Mavericks played in three tournaments during the fall including their own Maverick Invitational at The Creek in October.
Mandi Granato leads the team in scoring with a stroke average of 77.1. She finished in the top three in all three tournaments and was the individual medalist in the Maverick Invitational.
Hannah Hunke is second in team scoring with a stroke average of 79.9 while freshman Jinna Boonbumroongsuk is third at 80.4.
Zora Gittens and Mika Miyata round out the top five with scoring averages of 82.6 and 84.4 respectively.
Following play in Texas, the Mavericks will take part in the Missouri State Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 15-16.
