Final Results

MCALLEN, Texas – The Omaha women's golf team took sixth place at the UTRGV Invitational on Tuesday. It was their spring season opener.

The Mavericks fired a team score of 324 in the final round of the 54-hole event to finish at 963. Texas A&M Corpus Christi won with a score of 906, outpacing second-place UT Rio Grande Valley at 929. Lamar was third at 944.

Jinna Boonbumroongsuk led the Mavericks on the final day and in the tournament. She closed with a score of 76 to finish at 231, a career best. That put her 11th in the field of 59 golfers.

Mandi Granato was second on the team and 17th overall with a score of 236. She fired a card of 79 in the third round.

Zora Gittens was third on the team and tied for 29th overall with a score of 244, a total that included a final round of 80.

Hannah Hunke shot 85 in round three to finish at 254 for the tournament. She was 46th overall.

Izzi Puk finished the scoring for the Mavericks with a final round of 88 that put her at 258, good for a tie for 49th.

The Mavericks are closer to home next week, taking part in the Missouri State Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 15-16, in Springfield, Mo.
