LaVigne, Olesen Tabbed United Soccer Coaches All-Region

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Margaret LaVigne and Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen were tabbed First Team All-West Region players, United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday. This marks the first time Omaha has earned All-Region accolades in the Division I era.
Both Mavericks were named All-Summit earlier this year, and Olesen was tabbed the Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year.
LaVigne adds to a growing list of career accolades with the First Team All-Region honor. The junior defender was named First Team All-Summit earlier this season. She earned second team honors in 2019. LaVigne also has two career Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The Saint Louis, Missouri native helped the Mavericks to 10 shutouts this season, which is the most Omaha has recorded in a single-season since 2008. Following back-to-back shutouts vs. SDSU, LaVigne was named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week. She leads the team in minutes with 1,726 and finished the year with 13 shots.
Olesen picks up the All-Region nod after being named the Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-Summit.
The freshman goalkeeper made 12 starts in goal for the Mavericks and logged over 1,100 minutes between the pipes. She's posted seven shutouts on the year. Olesen is second in the league with a .797 goals against average and seven shutouts. Olesen's seven shutouts ranks first in Division I single-season records, while her six wins ranks second.
