OMAHA, Neb. – Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen and Sophia Green land on the Top Drawer Soccer Women's Freshmen Top-100 list, Top Drawer announced earlier this week.
This marks the first time in the Division I era Omaha has two Top-100 Freshmen. Olesen ranks No. 88, while Green ranks No. 98.
Both players add to a growing list of accolades. Olesen was named United Soccer Coaches All-West Region First Team, Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year, All-Summit First Team, and All-Summit Newcomer Team earlier this season. Green was named Summit League Newcomer of the Year, All-Summit Second Team, and All-Summit Newcomer Team.
Olesen goalkeeper made 12 starts in goal for the Mavericks and logged over 1,100 minutes between the pipes. She's posted seven shutouts on the year. Olesen is second in the league with a .797 goals against average and seven shutouts. Olesen's seven shutouts ranks first in Division I single-season records, while her six wins ranks second.
Green logged just over 1,200 minutes on the pitch and led Omaha with 14 points and six goals. She added two assists on the year. Green posted a career-best performance with a pair of goals at Kansas City, including the game winner. The freshman forward was sixth in the Summit League in shots per game (2.10) and shots on goal per game (.85). Her six goals tied ninth in the league.
