The Omaha baseball team continues Summit League action this weekend, traveling to North Dakota State in Fargo, N.D. The Mavericks and Bison will play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 3 p.m. and single games on Saturday and Sunday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Around the Horn

The Mavericks are 18-16 (10-5 Summit League) on the season after sweeping Western Illinois last weekend.
Eduardo Rosario leads Omaha with a .357 batting average, followed by Chris Esposito (.339) and Mike Boeve (.299).
Rosario was named Summit League Player of the Week after hitting .667 with a double, home run and four RBI in the series sweep vs. Western Illinois.
Esposito has a team-high three triples, seven home runs and 34 RBI with 27 runs scored this season.
Joey Machado is 4-3 on the season with a 2.87 ERA and 49 strikeouts while Richie Holetz is 3-2 in 10 starts with a 3.24 ERA and team-high 52 strikeouts.
As a team, Omaha is hitting .271 with 207 runs, 300 hits, 62 doubles, nine triples and 29 home runs this season.
The Maverick pitching staff has a combined ERA of 5.78 while striking out 257 batters in 286.1 innings of work.

Scouting the North Dakota State Bison
The North Dakota State Bison come into this weekend's series with a 29-13 overall record and 14-9 mark in Summit League play after defeating Mayville State on Tuesday night in Fargo. Bennett Hostetler leads NDSU at the plate, hitting .352 with 10 doubles, a triple, six homers and 39 RBI. Jake Malec has a .343 batting average with five doubles, four triples and seven home runs this season.

Evan Sankey is 6-1 on the mound in 10 starts on the season with a 4.12 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 54.2 innings. Ben Smith is 6-4 with a 6.63 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 11 starts on the mound this season.

As a team, the Bison are hitting .272 with 265 runs, 386 hits, 67 doubles, five triples and 30 homers in 42 games. The North Dakota State pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.73 with 345 strikeouts while allowing 228 runs, 189 earned, on 392 hits in 359.1 innings.

Head coach Tod Brown is in his 14th season at North Dakota State and has a record of 328-344 with the Bison.
