Mavericks Earn ITA Community Service Honorable Mention Accolades

OMAHA, Neb. – For the third consecutive year, the Omaha women's tennis team is named an ITA Community Service Award honorable mention in the central region.

"Our team really strives to get out in the community and give back," said head coach Adam Summitt. "2020-21 was difficult in terms of what we were able to do. We were able to partner with the Omaha Parks & Rec. Department to work outside at a lot of their city parks. There we did beautification projects for the city. As restrictions start to lift, it'll be a goal to get out more for the upcoming season."

The Mavericks were awarded the 2020 City of Omaha Parks and Recreation School Volunteer Award of the Year in March. The team completed four volunteer projects with Omaha Parks, including painting in the A.V. Sorensen Community Center and beautifying Meadowland Park.
