
Mavericks Finish First Two Rounds At Wildcat Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Omaha men's golf team is in thirteenth place at the K-State Wildcat Invitational after two rounds of action on Monday.Â
With a team score of 306 in the first round and 323 in the second, the Mavericks finish the first day with a two-round score of 629. At the top of the leaderboard, Sam Houston State leads with a score of 584, followed by Kansas City with 585. Tied in third after 36 holes are Creighton and Kansas State, scoring 587.Â
Mathew Halvorson scored a 68 in round one, setting his new career best in a single round. After shooting four under in the first, he continues to lead the Mavericks with a score of 149 through two rounds. Halvorson currently sits tied for 18th place on the individual leaderboard. Â
Noah Hartman is in second place for Omaha with a score of 156. The senior finished three over to end the second round and is tied for 49th place overall.Â
Sophomore Jacob Zerby shot five over in the first round for a score of 77. He currently sits tied for 58th place with a two-round total of 161. Two strokes behind him with a score of 163 and playing in his first collegiate tournament is freshman Kurtis Rodriguez. His first ever round score, an 80.Â
Junior Jack Tickle had matching round scores of 86, for a two-round total of 172.Â
Playing individually is sophomore Carter Doose. He finished rounds one and two with matching 77's, for a two round score of 154. He is tied for 43rd on the individual leaderboard.
The final round of the Invitational will start at 8:30 a.m Tuesday morning.
