Women's Soccer Has Three Named Academic All-League

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Three Omaha women's soccer student-athletes were tabbed Academic All-League, the Summit League announced Wednesday afternoon. Emilie Erland, Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen, and Grace Thede are all first-time honorees.

All three Mavericks were named CoSIDA Academic All-District earlier this month.

To be eligible, the student-athlete must have played in 50 percent of the program's contests and hold a 3.3 cumulative GPA in their respective programs. The award is nominated and voted on by the institution's sports information director and athletic faculty representative.

Erland holds a 3.95 as a civil engineering major. This season, Erland finished with seven points on three goals and one assist. She most recently scored the game winner in the Summit League Quarterfinals vs North Dakota on Oct. 28 helping Omaha advance in the post season. Erland also netted the game winner vs. Western Illinois on Oct. 16, while her first goal of the year came at Lindenwood on Aug. 21.

Reedtz boasts a 3.85 GPA as a neuroscience major. The junior goalkeeper made 19 appearances in goal this season for Omaha. In nearly 1,3000 minutes played, Reedtz made 47 saves and posted a 1.25 goals against average. She made a season-high eight saves against Air Force back on Sept. 18.

In the classroom, Thede holds a 4.0 GPA and will graduate with her medical humanities degree this spring. Thede started 18 matches this year before being sidelined with a season-ending injury. She logged 1,480 minutes, which included nine matches at a full 90 minutes. Thede tallied an assist vs. St. Thomas and helped Omaha to five shutouts this season.
