
Mavericks Head to Arizona For GCU Invitational

Omaha, Neb.- The Omaha men's golf team is back on the road this week at the Grand Canyon University Invitational Monday and Tuesday, March 14-15.
GCU plays host to 23 schools for the invitational. The field includes TCU, Hawai'i , NDSU, Southern Mississippi, Sacramento State, Valparaiso, Pacific, Drake, UTA, Creighton, Columbia, California Baptist, ACU, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Northern Colorado, Fresno State, Kansas City, Incarnate Word, and Fullerton.
Five men make the lineup for this week's tournament:

4. Carter Doose
5. Chris Atkinson
The Mavericks finished in 10th place at the HBU-Husky Colin Montgomerie Invitational last week in Spring, Texas.
Kurtis Rodriguez ended the Montomerie Invitational in a tie for 27th place. The freshman shot 227(+11) through three rounds in Texas.
Carter Doose ended the Husky invite with a total score of 230. The sophomore score 77(+5)-74(+2)-79+7 in three rounds and finishes with a share of 37th place overall.
Mathew Halvorson tied Doose for 37th place with a three-round total of 230. The senior shot 79(+7)-76(+4)-75(+3) throughout the tournament.
Josh Peters finished in 44th place. The junior had a rocky start but answered with 73(+1) and 77(+5) in the final two rounds for a total score of 232.
Christopher Atkinson tied for 49th with a three-round score of 233. The freshman shot an 80 in round one but improved to 76(+4) in round two, finishing with 77(+5) in round three.
