Phoenix, Ariz.- The Omaha men's golf team completed the first round at the GCU Invitational on Monday. The second round was halted due to darkness with the Mavericks on their 15-16th holes.

The second round will resume Tuesday, March 15 at 9:15 a.m. The third round will follow shortly thereafter.

Mathew Halvorson leads the Mavericks, shooting an even 71 in a first round that included six birdies. The senior currently shares 38th on the individual leaderboard, one-over par in the second.

Freshmen Kurtis Rodriguez and Christopher Atkinson match scorers with 74(+3) in the opening round. Rodriguez is even in round two with five birdies on the scorecard and two holes to play.

Carter Doose scored 77, and Josh Peters shot 79 in round one. Doose currently sits three-over in round two with three holes to play.
