St. Charles, Mo.- The Omaha women's golf team completed the final round of the Diane Daugherty Invitational at Southern Illinois on Tuesday.
The Mavericks shot 319 in the final round for a total team score of 982, good for 13th place. They fell four strokes behind Western Michigan, who placed 12th.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk led the Mavericks with a total score of 233. The sophomore started the day in 12th place and used a 77(+6) in the final round to earn a share of 9th place on the leaderboard. Boonbumroongsuk tied for first in birdies among all golfers, sinking nine over three rounds of golf. Jinna takes home her ninth top-ten finish as a Maverick, ranking in the top-ten for the second consecutive tournament.
Sydney Taake ended just one stroke behind Jinna with a three-round total of 234. The freshman earns a share of 12th place overall, scoring 80(+9) in the third round. This is Taake's third finish in the top-20 in her first season as a Maverick.
Junior Mandi Granato scored 78(+7) in the final round for a total of 251. Freshmen Emma Kirvcan and Maddie Simon ended with 253 and 254, respectively.
The Mavericks will return home to prepare for the Stampede at the Creek. Action from Elkhorn begins April 11.
