Spring, Texas- The Omaha men's golf team finishes the Colin Montgomerie-HBU Husky Invitational in tenth place.
The Mavericks end the invite with a total score of 915. Scoring 312 in the first round, Omaha answered with the second-best team score of the second round, shooting 295 in round two. The Mavericks shot 308 in the third round Tuesday.
Kurtis Rodriguez shot 76(+4) in round one, and an even 72 in round two for a day-one total of 148(+4). He added a 79(+7) in round three, finishing in a tie for 27th place on the leaderboard with a three-round score of 227.
Carter Doose shot 79(+7) in the third round and ends the invite with a total score of 230. The sophomore scored 77(+5) and 74(+2) in rounds one and two, and finishes with a share of 37th place overall.
Mathew Halvorson ends the invite with a three-round total of 230, tying Doose in 37th place. The senior shot 79(+7)-76(+4)-75(+3) throughout the tournament.
Josh Peters finishes in 44th place. After an 82 in the first round, Peters went one-over in the second, scoring 73. He added 77(+5) in round three for a total score of 232.
Christopher Atkinson ties for 49th after scoring 77(+5) in the third round on Tuesday. The freshman shot an 80 in round one but improved to a 76(+4) in round two, finishing with a three-round score of 233.
The Mavericks are off to Arizona next week for the Grand Canyon Invitational hosted by GCU. Action from Pheonix tees-off at 9:30 a.m. CT Monday and Tuesday, March 14-15.
