Elkhorn, Neb.- The Omaha men's golf team finishes the Stampede at the Creek in third place.
On a rainy and windy day at Indian Creek golf course, the Mavericks managed a team score of 303 in the final round for a total of 877 throughout the tournament. Omaha falls one stroke behind St. Thomas, and 32 strokes behind the champion North Dakota State.
Josh Peters had an eagle on hole 10 in the third round and closed the day with an even 72. The junior ends the event with a total score of 216, earning a share of fifth place on the leaderboard.
Mathew Halvorson scored 77(+5) in the third round, falling to ninth place overall with a three-round score of 218.
Carter Doose takes home a share of 18th place with a third-round score of 78(+6). The sophomore totaled 221 over 54 holes.
Christopher Atkinson and Phoomitr Kaewvichien end with 228 and 229, respectively. Kurtis Rodriguez was just behind them with a total score of 231.
This ends the regular season for the Mavericks. Omaha's next appearance will be at the Summit League Championship in Newton, Kansas May 1-3.
