Omaha Meets ORU in Final Home Series

With time winding down on the regular season, Omaha wraps up its home scheduled this weekend.
The Mavericks (22-24), fresh of their win over Creighton at Charles Schwab Field Tuesday, will host Oral Roberts (31-15) in a three-game Summit League series beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at Tal Anderson Field.
The two teams enter the weekend behind first-place North Dakota State in the Summit League standings. The winner of the series potentially stays in title contention while the loser likely falls out.
Omaha and the Golden Eagles have solidified their spots in the upcoming conference tournament, which will take place in Tulsa, Okla., at the end of the month. Both teams have six league games remaining.
Earlier this season, the Mavericks claimed a series at Oral Roberts for the first time by shutting out the Golden Eagles 1-0 in the opener of their three-game series and 8-0 in the finale. Omaha had only one regular-season win against ORU in Tulsa, Okla., prior to that April weekend. The Mavericks did beat ORU there twice when they won the 2019 Summit League tournament, however, to earn an NCAA berth.
Omaha's weekend rotation is scheduled to be Caleb Riedel, Mark Timmins and then Charlie Bell. The Golden Eagles will counter with Evan Kowalski, Ledgend Smith and Isaac Coffey.
The Mavericks will honor 10 players on Senior Day prior to Saturday's 6 p.m. game.
