Omaha Selected Third in Preseason Men's Soccer Poll

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League announced the 2022 Men's Soccer Preseason Poll Tuesday afternoon. The Mavericks are predicted to finish third by the league's head coaches.
Returning players Kenji Mboma Dem and Nathanael Sallah are tabbed Omaha's Preseason Players to Watch.
Omaha finished third in the league last year with a 6-10-1 overall record and 4-2 finish in league play. The Mavericks fell in the opening round to second seeded Oral Roberts.
Last season, the Mavericks earned their first ever road win at Denver. They downed the Pioneers 2-0. Omaha also had league wins vs. Kansas City, Eastern Illinois, and Western Illinois.
Mboma Dem returns to the starting line-up for the Mavericks in his junior campaign. Mboma Dem was an All-Summit First Team and All-Tournament Team selection last year. He appeared in 17 matches making 16 starts. Mboma Dem totaled nine points on three goals and three assists.
Sallah appeared in 11 matches between the pipes last season and earned All-Summit Newcomer Team honors. He finished the year with a 4-2-0 record. Sallah tallied 26 saves with a .743 save percentage and a .83 GAA.
The Mavericks open the 2022 regular season this Thursday. Omaha will host Rutgers at Caniglia Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
