Ruch Named Summit League Player of the Month

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - McKenna Ruch adds another award to her astounding 2023 campaign, being named the Summit League Female Peak Performer of the Month for November.
Ruch had one of the single best months of her career in November, leading the Mavericks to a 5-2 record, a Summit League Title, and an NCAA Tournament berth after recording 80 kills, five aces, and team-highs in hitting percentage (.318), total blocks (45), block solos (7), blocks per set (1.61), and 111 points. She also had six double-digit kills matches, finishing with hitting percentage above .500 in two of them. Defensively, she had three matches with at least 7 blocks, including an Omaha record 14 vs. Kansas City in the Championship match. Ruch also had a season high 15 kills in the match vs. Kansas City, earning her first double-double of the season.
In the NCAA Tournament, she led the team with 8 kills and 5 blocks vs. No. 4 Kansas.
Ruch had previously been named First Team All-Summit and Summit League Tournament MVP back in November.
