Sugar Land, Texas— The Omaha men's golf team takes 10th place after the final round of the Colin Montgomerie Invitational on Tuesday.

The Mavericks posted a team score of 292 in the third round for a two-day total of 874, their second-best 54-hole score this season. Omaha fell four strokes behind Houston Christian, which takes ninth place with a score of 870.

Mathew Halvorson recorded his third-straight even round with a 72 in round three. Halvorson's two-day total of 216 is his lowest 54-hole score this season. The graduate student notched eight birdies throughout the event, and one eagle on a par-five, hole No. 2 in the final round.

Connor Wilson also shot his best three-round total of the season. Wilson recorded a score of 217 over three rounds, posting an even 72 in the final round for his second par-or-better round in the event. The senior sank 14 birdies throughout the event, good for eighth place among all golfers.

Kurtis Rodriguez placed 44th, and Nolan Johnson took 46th with total scores of 221 and 222, respectively. Rodriguez and Johnson both scored 74 (+2) in the third round on Tuesday. Josh Peters finished with a total score of 236, taking 77th place.

The Mavericks are back in action next week at the GCU Invitational. Action from Phoenix, Ariz. begins on Monday, Mar. 13.
