Apr 20, 2023 | Men's Tennis
In his rookie season with the Mavericks, Ryoma Mishiro has been landed himself on the 2023 All-League Men's Tennis Team.
A native of Fujisawa, Japan, Mishiro has had a stellar Freshman year for the Mavericks. Mishiro went 13-8 in singles with the majority of his victories coming at the No. 4 spot. He also captured victories at the No. 2 and 3 singles slots this season.
In doubles, Mishiro went 12-8 which is tied for the most doubles wins on the team with Quintan Van Wijk. Mishiro played all but three of his doubles matches with Ethan Gaubert. Together they went 10-7 together.
"Ryoma has had a great year and is very deserving of this accolade. He comes to practice daily looking to improve any way he can and that is reflected in his results this spring," Omaha head coach Matt Barlow said. "He has come up with some big wins for us in conference and is a big part why we made it to the conference tournament. He should be very proud of his Freshman year and I'm looking forward to more accomplishments in his future years as a Maverick."
Mishiro and the Mavericks face the Denver Pioneers tomorrow in the first round of the Summit League playoffs.
