Crockett Earns TIcketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week

Omaha, Neb.-- Senior Grace Crockett has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week, league officials announced on Monday.
"I'm very happy for Grace to receive some recognition," head coach Tim Walters said. " She has been an important part of our team for four years without receiving any weekly honors. This is really a team award after a great weekend allowing zero goals and very few opportunities defensively."
This is the first weekly award of Grace Crockett's career, and it comes after a record-breaking opening weekend. Crockett tallied a career-high two assists in the Mavericks' season opening victory over Southern Utah on Thursday. She ranks second in the league with two assists to start the year. Grace logged 76 minutes in the 4-0 shutout win. Crockett and the Omaha defense allowed just three shots on goal against SUU.
The Omaha Marian alum logged 42 minutes against Utah Tech on Sunday, helping the Mavericks to their second shutout of the year. She and the Omaha defense held UTU to four shots on goal. After two games this season, Omaha is one of two teams in the Summit League that has not conceded a goal.
Crockett and the Mavericks return to the pitch on Thursday, Aug. 24 for their first road match of the season against the Missouri Tigers. Kickoff from Columbia, Mo., is scheduled for 7 p.m.
