Cross Country Heads to Lincoln for Woody Greeno Invitational
Sep 15, 2023 | Cross Country
Next up for the Omaha Mavericks Cross Country squad is the Woody Greeno Invitational tomorrow morning in Lincoln, Nebraska. Omaha is coming off their best ever finish at the Augustana Twilight Meet two weeks where they placed 5th overall.
"Woody Greeno will be a good test to see how much we've grown since the Twilight meet on 9/1," Omaha head coach Cliff Cisar said. "We have a couple additions to this meet who weren't able to race last time due to illness and some summer bumps and bruises. We are excited to see how they join the team and ultimately add to our depth."
Last season, the Mavericks placed 3rd at the Greeno Invitational and will look to replicate that success tomorrow in Lincoln. Two weeks ago in Sioux Falls, the Mavericks had all five point placers finish in the top 60 to help secure their 5th place finish.
"During training, we've really emphasized working together and limiting small gaps that form between each other and our groups throughout workouts and practice," Cisar said. "If we execute what we've worked on throughout this last cycle and race for each other, we should have a solid team finish."
Tomorrow's action gets underway at 11:00 a.m. from Mahoney Golf Course. You can access meet results here.
