
Omaha Begins 2023-24 Season at Wildcat Invitational

Manhattan, Kan.-- The Omaha men's golf team travels to Kansas State for the Wildcat Invitational on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 17-18 at Colbert Hills Golf Club.
K-State welcomes Boise State, Creighton, Drake, Grand Canyon, Houston Christian, Kansas City, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Oakland, Omaha, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois and Texas A&M Commerce to the 15-team, 54-hole tournament played over two days. The first two rounds will be played on Sunday, Sept. 17 with the final round on Monday, Sept. 18. Both days begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
This is the first tournament of the 2023-24 season for the Mavericks, as well as the first under head coach Joey Baldwin. Here's how Omaha lines up for the Wildcat Invitational:
Wilson enters the 2023-24 season for his sixth year of collegiate golf, and second with the Mavericks. Last year with Omaha, Connor had a season scoring average of 74.0. Wilson recorded the lowest round score in program history with a 64 (-8) at the Stampede at the Creek (Apr. 11) en route to the first individual medal of his career.
Luchutaskul will make his collegiate debut for the Mavericks at the Wildcat Invitational. Marvin, a freshman from Bangkok, Thailand, comes to Omaha from Bromsgrove International school.
Johnson returns for his sophomore season in Black and Crimson. As a freshman last year, Johnson was the only Maverick to compete in all 33 rounds of golf. Nolan recorded a scoring average of 75.2 and finished as high as 16th place at the WIU Invitational (Apr. 4).
Atkinson appeared in 15 rounds last year, garnering a scoring average of 77.0 as a sophomore. Through two seasons with the Mavericks, Christopher has eight par-or-better rounds over 13 tournaments.
Goodrum makes his first appearance in the lineup for the Mavericks after transferring from Dodge City CC. Austin and the Conquerors took 10th place at both the 2022 and 2023 NJCAA Division I National Championships.
