Overall, Omaha went 1-3 in the series.
• Jackson Trout continues to be the team's top bat early on, getting a hit in all four games last week and totaling four RBIs. • Trent Burkhalter had the biggest offensive role in Omaha's win over the Jayhawks, driving in five of the team's nine runs with four of them coming on a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the third. His three hits in the game were also a career high.
• Meanwhile, rookie bats Paul Schuyler, Eli Hoerner, and Mason Gaines all recorded three hits last week, combining to go 9-for-26 (.346) with four runs scored and four doubles.
• Omaha's new arms had a strong showing in the series against KU. Freshman Cameron Teinert, in his first career start, was the first Mavericks starter to go five innings in a game this season and struck out seven. JUCO transfers Landon Mueller and Oliver Mabee each logged two scoreless innings as well.
• The young arms had their best showing Friday's win, with freshmen Tanner Foerstch and Maddox Meyer combining for 5.1 innings in relief with a combined four strikeouts and just three hits allowed.
