LINCOLN, Neb. — Omaha men's and women's swimming and diving opened the 2026-27 season with a strong showing at the Good Life Relays on Sept. 25 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Omaha men captured first place with 137 points, while the women finished runner-up with 97 points.Â
"It was a great meet to dust off the cobwebs and get ourselves geared up for the front half of our season," head coach Jessica Hessel said. "We also enjoyed the opportunity to be surrounded by other Nebraska collegiate programs as we kicked off the year. Omaha wishes everyone the best of luck this season!"
The Mavericks competed across 18 relay events in their first competition of the season.
"With such a young team, we used this meet as an opportunity to teach, learn and grow," Hessel said. "I was really pleased with how receptive our athletes were to feedback from the coaching staff. We have a hungry group, and we're confident that we'll continue to improve each week as we work toward reaching our high ceiling in February. The icing on the cake was seeing some great times produced in September. There's a lot to be excited about with this group, and we're looking forward to seeing where the season takes us."
Omaha is set to continue the 2026-27 season on Oct. 3, hosting Augustana at H&K Pool in Omaha. The meet is set for noon CT.
