Mavs Remain No. 3 Entering Final Home Matches
Coach Mike Denney's Maverick wrestling team maintained its No. 3 NCAA II ranking as it prepared for its final two home matches this weekend in Lee & Helene Sapp Fieldhouse. UNO will host No. 12 Minnesota State, Mankato Friday at 7 p.m. and St. Cloud State Saturday at 3 p.m. in North Central Conference matches.
Defending national champion heavyweight Les Sigman, now 34-1, also maintained his No. 1 spot among the nation's heavyweights. Other Mavs ranked among the nation's elite at their weight classes include J.D. Naig, fourth at 165, Chas DeVetter, seventh at 157; Mitch Waite, seventh at 133, and Eli Dominguez, eighth at 141.
