Herold Earns 1st-Team All-America Honors
Junior tight end Zac Herold from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been named a first-team All-American on two separate teams, heading a list of numerous post-season honors for the Mavericks. Herold's selection marks the ninth straight season that the Mavs have had at least one first-team All-American.
Herold was named to the D2Football.com and the College Sports Report All-America teams the past week. Herold, a two-year starter and all-North Central Conference selection, caught 32 passes for 465 yards and five touchdowns in 2005.
In addition, twin linebackers Kenny and Taiwo Onatolu were named second and third-team All-Americans. Taiwo, a senior, was named to the D2Football.com second team and to the Associated Press Little All-America third team. Kenny, a junior, was named to the College Sports Report second team.
