Mavs Finish Third at Regionals, 8 Advance to Nati
MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha wrestling team crowned two individual champions while finishing in third place at the 2007 NCAA II North Region Championsips. The Mavericks qualified eight of 10 wrestlers for the NCAA II Nationals on Mar. 9-10 in Kearney, Neb. where UNO will be vying for its fourth-straight national title.
In perhaps the biggest surpise of the day, true freshman Austin Boehm pinned top-ranked Travis Krinkie of Minnesota State in 4:06 to claim the 184-pound title.
Two-time defending national champion J.D. Naig won the 174 pound championship with a 2-0 decision over No. 2-seed Cody Henriksen of Augustana.
