Indoors, ran a PR of 2:28.90 in the 800 meters at the Jim Emmerich/Alumni Invitational (Jan. 21)…had a PR of 3:11.34 in the 1,000 meters at the K-State Winter Invitational (Dec. 10)…ran two PRs in the mile including a time of 5:22.45 at the Jim Emmerich/Alumni Invitational (Jan. 21)…put up a PR of 11:28.85 in the 3,000 meters at the SDSU Indoor Classic (Feb. 10)…outdoors, did not compete...named to Summit League Academic Honor Roll.
Before UNO
Was a four-year letter winner for Fort Madison High School...as a senior, was the Southeast Iowa individual conference champion in cross country, finishing 11th at the state meet and earning all-state honors...was all-state in track after finishing seventh in the 1,500 meterss and second on the 4 x 800 meter relay...in all, qualified for the Iowa state track & field championship six times and the state cross country championship three times...also was all-conference academic for all four years.

Born March 19, 1998...daughter of Ben and Jenny Steffensmeier...has three brothers, Isaac, Aaron and Nathan, and a sister, Rachel...her brother Isaac has run cross country and track for Central College...majoring in exercise science.
