Senior Day, Two Games Set for this Weekend

With three weeks remaining in the regular season, Nebraska-Omaha (11-1-0, 7-0-0 NCC) will host a pair of key conference and regional games this weekend at the Soccer Field at Ak-Sar-Ben as it looks to add to an 11-game winning streak. The No. 6 Mavericks will host St. Cloud State (4-9-2, 1-5-2 NCC) Saturday at 1 p.m. in a rematch of an earlier game and then face 16th-ranked Minnesota State Sunday at 1 p.m. for the first time this year. MSU (9-5-0) is also undefeated in the North Central Conference at 8-0-0 and will face South Dakota Saturday before Sunday's showdown. Prior to Sunday's game the Mavs will honor the four seniors, Christen Boeckel, Becca Fritz, Meghan Pile and Amy Price, in Senior Day ceremonies.
The Mavs picked up a pair of victories last weekend and junior forward Beth McGill scored two goals and two assists for eight points to earn the NCC offensive player of the week award. MSU, a winner of nine straight since dropping its first five, earned a pair of shutouts and midfielder Lauren Peterson was named the defensive player of the week. SCSU went 0-1-1 last week with the loss coming from the Mavericks of MSU.
UNO is 7-0-0 all-time against the Huskies and 10-1-0 against MSU. The two Mavericks squads have faced each other once in the regular season and once in the postseason each of the last five years with UNO holding a 5-0-0 mark in postseason play.
