Mavs Host Wells Fargo Finals

The Mavericks will host the North Central Conference Wells Fargo Finals semifinal and championship games Friday and Saturday, March 4-5, at Lee & Helene Sapp Fieldhouse. Friday's games will be at 6 and 8 p.m. and Saturday's championship game will tip-off at 7 p.m.
Radio
The games will be broadcast on KOZN, 1620 AM in Omaha and on KJSK, 900 AM in Columbus with David Gustafson calling the action.

The Mavericks are 23-4 on the season and won the North Central Conference regular season title with a 9-3 mark. UNO is ranked No. 5 in this week's NABC poll . UNO is ranked first in the North Central Region.
The Coach
Kevin McKenna is in his fourth season as the head coach of the Mavericks, with a record of 89-31. He has guided the Mavs to four straight 20-win seasons, two North Central Conference titles and two appearances in the NCAA II tournament. McKenna is a 1993 graduate of Creighton. He was named the NCC's coach of the year last season. McKenna's NCC record is 40-20.
UNO in the NCC
The Mavericks captured their fourth North Central Conference regular season championship last Saturday and their second in a row. UNO's other titles came in 1979 and 1984. This is UNO's fourth straight trip to the Wells Fargo Final semifinal game.
Looking Back
The Mavericks are coming off an emotional 90-88 double overtime win over Minnesota State on Feb. 26 in Mankato. Ryan Curtis scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the overtime periods to rally the Mavs to the win, which clinched the outright regular season championship for UNO.
