
UNO Men Outlast Northwest, 82-80

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The UNO men held off a determined rally from the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats to win 82-80 on Wednesday night. The Mavericks got 30 points from #Michael Jenkins# to improve to 14-6 overall and 8-5 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
The Mavericks won both games of the season series with Northwest, winning 73-64 in Omaha back on Dec. 13.
UNO led 40-35 at halftime but was outscored by the Bearcats 45-42 in the second. Northwest shot almost 53 percent from the floor for the game while UNO hit 49 percent of its shots.
Jenkins' point total tied a team-season high. #Mitch Albers#, who set that mark, added 16 for the Mavericks. UNO had no other player in double figures and played for much of the game without forward #Dion Curry# because of foul trouble.
Edriss Floyd had 16 to lead Northwest while Shawn Carter added 15.
The Mavericks return home to host the Emporia State University Hornets on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 3:30 p.m.
