LAKE ELMO, Minn. – The UNO golf team has a share of the lead after the first round of the Wildwood Lodge Invitational hosted by Concoria St. Paul. #Armana Christianson# had the Mavericks' best round of the day at 77 to tie her for third place. The final round of the tournament is tomorrow at Tartan Park Golf Course beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The Mavericks are tied with Winona State for first with team scores of 319. Upper Iowa sits in third place just two strokes back. Minnesota State is in fourth place in the 13-team tournament at 323.
Michelle Narvason of Winona State fired the low round of the day at 74 to hold down first place. McKenzie Holthaus of Upper Iowa finished in second with a 76, a stroke ahead of Christianson.
UNO's #Dani Suponchick# is tied for fifth after a first-round 79. Teammate #Abbey Weddle# is one shot back at 80, good for a three-way tie for eleventh. #Rebecca Pollock# shot an 83, putting her in a tie for 19th place, and #Erin Ommen# finished at 84 to put her in an eight-way tie for 23rd place.
Junior college transfer #Ricca Soper#, playing as an individual for UNO, shot an 81 on Sunday to put her in a tie for 14th.
