Final Results
VALLEY, Neb. - The UNO golf team won its own event for the second year in a row, beating seven other teams for the title in the UNO Fall Classic. Mavericks #Armana Christianson and Ricca Soper# tied for second overall.
The Mavericks posted back-to-back scores of 320, winning with a total of 640. Concordia St. Paul and Truman State tied for second with identical two-day scores of 665. The Mavericks have now won three of the four tournaments they've played in this fall.
Christianson, who led after round one, and Soper finished with scores of 157, one stroke behind medalist Jennifer Lawson of Truman. Soper and #Dani Suponchick# had UNO's best rounds of day two with a pair of 78s. Suponchick was fifth overall.
#Rebecca Pollock# finished fourth for UNO and ninth overall with a score of 166, one stroke ahead of teammate #Amy Powell# who had 167 to finish in a tie for 10th.
UNO also had four players as individuals. Brooke Thilges finished with a two-round score of 171, #Christina VonRiesen# was 173, and #Melyssa Doerr and Elizabeth Havekost# each posted scores of 184.
The Mavs return to action on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 7 and 8 at the Bearcat Fall Golf Classic hosted by Northwest Missouri State.
