CHICAGO - The UNO men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by UIC on Sunday night at Flames Field.
The Mavericks fell to 1-9 on the season, while UIC improved to 7-3-3.
Eric Frazier notched the first goal for the Flames in the 15th minute. Frazier tucked the ball away on a low shot following a cross from Nermin Dautovic.
Ivan Stanisavljevic added his eighth goal of the season in the 69th minute on a penalty kick to cap the scoring.
UIC outshot UNO on goal, 12-1. Joe Marinkovich had the Mavs' lone shot on goal. Sam Noddle hit a header over the crossbar in the 64th minute for the Mavs. Noddle finished with a team-high two shots. Josh Christensen made 10 saves for UNO.
The Mavs take the field next at SIU Edwardsville in Illinois on Oct. 25.
