The UNO women's soccer will renew an old North Central Conference rivalry on Friday, as it caps off the 2011 season at Northern Colorado at 7 p.m., in Greeley, Colo. The Mavericks take their two-match winning streak to Northern Colorado, which won a share of the Big Sky regular-season championship with a 2-0 win over Montana last Sunday. The match marks the final one of UNO's first season as a Division I program.

The Bears are riding a five-game unbeaten streak and are coming off a weekend in which they captured their first-ever share of the Big Sky regular-season championship. JJ Wykstra has a team-high five goals on the season. Ariel Cook is the top point-getter with 12 points (4g, 4a). Seven different Bears have scored multiple goals this season. Kirstin Salminen has played every minute in goal and has a .811 save percentage.
The Coaches
Don Klosterman is in his 13th year as the head coach of the UNO Mavericks. The only head coach in the program's history, Klosterman has a 198-58-12 record, just two wins from number 200 in his career at UNO. The two-time national coach of the year has led the Mavericks to the Division II national semifinal four times, culminating in the 2005 NCAA Division II national championship. Under Klosterman, the Mavericks are 19-7 all-time in NCAA Division II tournament play and have won six conference titles. Klosterman formerly served as the head men's soccer coach at Benedictine College (1979-83) and Creighton (1984-86). He graduated from Benedictine in 1974.
Tim Barrera is in his 13th season as the head coach at Northern Colorado. Barrera is 176-152-20 as the head coach of the Bears. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1986.
Last Time Out
The UNO women's soccer team took 105 minutes and 30 shots to break through, but Amber Bilodeau's overtime goal gave the Mavs a deserving 1-0 win over Washburn before 604 fans on senior day at the UNO Soccer Field last Sunday.
Despite outshooting the Lady Blues 30-6 overall and 15-6 on goal, the Mavs couldn't muster the game-winning goal until just 5:39 remained in the second overtime period. That's when Katie Pickinpaugh picked up the ball in the middle of the field and weaved her way through the midfield to the edge of the 18-yard box. She laid the ball off to the left side of the box, where Bilodeau received it and fired to the upper right corner of the goal to end the match. It was Bilodeau's second goal of the season.
UNO finished with a decisive 11-1 advantage in corner kicks and had five shots in the first overtime period, but only one forced Monhollan to make a save. Bilodeau's goal capped UNO's season-high total of 30 shots.
