Mavericks Announce Five Soccer Signees

OMAHA, Neb. – University of Nebraska at Omaha head soccer coach Don Klosterman announced his class of recruits for the 2011 season today. Five student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to attend UNO in the fall of 2011. The incoming class includes three graduating high school seniors and two transfers from Iowa Western Community College.
“We are very excited about our incoming class,” said Klosterman. “All five are quality players who we've known for quite a while. They're excellent people, great students, and we expect them to play an immediate role for us in the coming year.”
The Mavericks are coming off a season in which they went 10-7-1 and 10-5-1 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, good for third place in the league standings. UNO has never had a losing season under Klosterman, the only coach in the team's 11-year history. Klosterman is a two-time national coach of the year and guided the Mavericks to the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2005.

Julia Adler, Forward - Ankeny, Iowa
Adler was a three-year letter winner for Ankeny High School and is anticipating her senior season this spring. She also participated in track and field and basketball. She earned an Academic Letter while playing for the Hawks. In addition, she played for the Ankeny Soccer Club which won state Under-13 and Under 18 titles. Personal: Daughter of Jennifer and Don Adler…has one brother, Jacob…will major in business at UNO.
Amber Bilodeau, Midfielder - Wellsville, Utah
Bilodeau comes to UNO from Iowa Western Community College where she was a two-year player at center midfield. This past season, she had eight goals and 10 assists while starting all 24 games and serving as team captain. She was named First Team all-region XI for a Reivers team that went 18-4-2 and placed fifth at the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament. She was named to an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Academic All-American as a freshman. Bilodeau played four years for Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah where she served as captain her senior year and was the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player. Personal: Daughter of Brenda and Matt Bilodeau…has two brothers, Alex and Kaleb…will major in secondary education at UNO.
Chamea Palmer, Forward - Saint George, Utah
Palmer led Iowa Western Community College in scoring during the 2010 season with 33 goals and 13 assists for 79 points and was a NJCAA First Team All-American. She broke her own school record for goals in a season. As a freshman, she had 26 goals, 17 assists and 69 points and was also named a NJCAA All-American and a National Small College Athletic Association All-American. She was a first team all-region pick, an ICCAC first team all-region selection and an ICCAC Academic All-American. As a high school player, she was a four-year letter-winner and her team's MVP all four years at Dixie High School. She was named first team all-state. Palmer also lettered in track and basketball. Personal: Daughter of Heidi and Thane Palmer…has four brothers: Mark, Chantry, Jordan and Dayvin…will major in art at UNO.
Anna Sibson, Midfield/Forward - Omaha, Neb.
Sibson is a three-year letter winner for Millard West High School and is looking forward to her senior season this spring. As a junior, she was an all-Metro Conference second team selection by the Omaha World-Herald. She helped the team to a 15-2 record, a district championship and appearances in the Metro Conference and state semi-finals. She was also a World-Herald all-state honorable mention as a sophomore. She has earned her academic letter in each of her first three years at Millard West. She also played club soccer for Omaha FC 92-93 during which the team won six state championships. Personal: Daughter of Laurie and Greg Sibson…has three brothers: Jesse, Jason and Aaron…will major in criminal justice at UNO.
Jenna Summers, Midfielder - Omaha, Neb.
Summers is a three-year letter winner and two-year starter at Millard North, and she will play her senior season this spring. As a junior, she was an Omaha World-Herald all-state honorable mention while helping the Mustangs to the state semifinals. She played club soccer for Omaha FC Elite 1 where she helped the team to six Nebraska state titles under coach Alex Mason. She also played for the Nebraska State ODP team from 2007-09. Personal: Daughter of Sue Summers…has one brother, Matthew…is undecided on a major at UNO.
