OMAHA, Neb. -- The UNO women's tennis team finished its busy schedule this week, falling to conference opponent Southwest Baptist 9-0 at Hanscom Park Indoor Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
In doubles action, juniors #Traci Moklestad and Kelsie Olson# competed well in a heartbreaking 9-8 loss to Southwest's Adrienn Kovacs and Faiga Schmidt.
At the No. 2 spot, juniors #Heather Hottman and Samantha Thomas# dropped the match to Mehak Singh and Andjela Panoviski, 8-5, and in No. 3 doubles, freshman #Jessica Hottman and junior Caitlin Christy# took an 8-1 loss to Crystal Guiot and Jenna Hendrickson.
In singles action, No. 6 Christy pushed her second tiebreaker of the season, falling 2-6, 6-0, 7-6. Southwest Baptist swept the remaining singles matches in straight sets.
The Mavs continue MIAA play Sunday, March 27 against Lincoln (Mo.). The match is set for 10 a.m., and location will depend on weather conditions.
