SEASIDE, Calif. - The UNO golf team holds down seventh place after a blustery first round at the Lady Otter Spring Invitational hosted by California State Monterey Bay. The Mavericks posted a score of 322.
Nova Southeastern out of Florida led after the first day with a team score of 295. California Baptist and host CSUMB are tied for second at 307. The tournament features 22 teams.
#Dani Suponchick# posted UNO's best score of the day at 78, shooting 39 on both the front and the back of the par-73 layout. She's tied for 16th out of 117 golfers. #Rebecca Pollock# shot 80 today to place second for the Mavs and tie for 33rd overall. She closed strong with a 37 on the back nine.
#Armana Christianson# opened with a 37 on the front side on her way to a first-round score of 81 to place third for the Mavs. #Ricca Soper# was fourth for UNO at 83, and #Amy Powell# was fifth with a first-round score of 88.
The final round of the tournament begins tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. CT from the Black Horse Golf Club.
