The UNO women's soccer team takes to the road for the fourth straight weekend when the Mavs travel to Colorado for matches on Friday and Sunday. On Sept. 30, UNO plays at Air Force at the USAF Academy at 8 p.m. (CT). Then on Sunday, the Mavs square off at UC-Colorado Springs at 2 p.m. (CT). In the past month, the Mavs have made trips to Washington, North Dakota, Missouri and now Colorado.

Series Record: First Meeting
Air Force is winless in its last five games, but the Falcons have tied their previous two. On Sept. 25, Air Force earned a scoreless draw at Valparaiso. That followed a 2-2 tie against IUPUI two days earlier. The Falcons are led by McKenna Fox, who has four goals and two assists for 10 points.

UC-Colorado Springs has lost three of its last four matches entering the weekend. The Mountain Lions dropped a pair of 2-1 decisions last week against Division II No. 16 Fort Lewis and in overtime to Colorado Mesa. Agnes Arnadottir is the team's leading scorer with three goals.
The Coaches
Don Klosterman is in his 13th year as the head coach of the UNO Mavericks. The only head coach in the program's history, Klosterman has a 196-56-12 record, just four wins from number 200 in his career at UNO. The two-time national coach of the year has led the Mavericks to the Division II national semifinal four times, culminating in the 2005 NCAA Division II national championship. Under Klosterman, the Mavericks are 19-7 all-time in NCAA Division II tournament play and have won six conference titles. Klosterman formerly served as the head men's soccer coach at Benedictine College (1979-83) and Creighton (1984-86). He graduated from Benedictine in 1974.
Larry Friend is in his third season as the head coach at Air Force. Friend has a 14-29-5 record as the Falcons' head coach. He graduated from Air Force in 1985.
Nichole Ridenour is in her fourth season as the head coach at UC-Colorado Springs. Ridenour is 24-36-3 at the helm at UCCS. She played collegiate soccer at Minnesota-Morris.
Last Time Out
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The UNO women's soccer team fell 2-1 to the UMKC Kangaroos on Saturday night at Durwood Soccer Stadium.
The Mavericks fell behind 2-0 but pulled a goal back in the 79th minute on Logen Watts' first goal of her career. However, the Kangaroos (3-5-3) were able to hold off the Mavericks to earn the win. UNO dropped to 3-4-2 on the year.
Taylor Bare had both goals for the Kangaroos. Her first goal came in the 36th minute, and she added a second in the 60th minute for UMKC.
Watts notched UNO's goal at the 78:47 mark, and the Mavs had one shot on goal to try and tie the match in the final minutes, but Sarah Nordstrom's attempt was saved.
UMKC outshot UNO 10-9, but the Mavs held the advantage in shots on goal, 6-5. UNO had six corner kicks to none for the Kangaroos.
Next Up for the Mavs...
UNO finally finishes off its stretch of eight straight road games on Oct. 20 when it travels to Western Illinois for a 3:30 p.m., match. The Mavs will then play their final home game of the season on Oct. 22 when Washburn comes to the UNO Soccer Field for a Noon meeting.
