OMAHA, Neb. – Season tickets for the 2012-13 UNO men's basketball season will go on sale Tuesday, April 3 at 10 a.m., the UNO athletic department announced today. All games will be played at the new Ralston Sports and Event Center, which is under construction at 72nd and Q Streets.
Five seating options are available for season ticket holders with packages starting at $99. Courtside seating (Option 1) is $400 per seat, and other levels are tiered by price and location: Option 2 ($250 per seat), Option 3 ($200 per seat), Option 4 ($150 per seat) and Option 5 ($99 per seat). At the time of purchase, season tickets will be sold in sections according to price, and specific seat assignments will be determined during the summer months.
“The Ralston Sports and Event Center is the perfect setting to kick off our first year with a full Division I schedule,” Associate Athletic Director Josh White said. “The variety of season ticket options available and the venue's amenities are fan-friendly. We're looking forward to our fans, both new and old, building a tremendous home court advantage and an enthusiastic crowd at Ralston for our student-athletes. The level of competition our men's basketball program brings to Omaha will continue to raise the profile of the university in the years to come.”
UNO's home opener is Friday, Nov. 9 during the 2012 Homecoming Week, as it hosts Northern Illinois. Last season, the Mavs defeated NIU on the road, marking UNO's first win over a fellow Division I opponent in program history.
The Mavericks will play an all Division I schedule in 2012-13, its second of a four-year reclassification. The slate includes eight home games against peers from The Summit League, which UNO will officially join in 2012-13. As part of its conference membership, Nebraska Omaha will host a Bracket Buster game on Feb. 23, which will be televised on ESPN.
“We are eager to see the plans for the Ralston Sports and Event Center come to fruition in 2012-13, benefiting our student-athletes, staff and fans alike,” head coach Derrin Hansen said. “Playing in this facility will be a first-class way to welcome our new opponents from The Summit League to Omaha, and our fans are sure to appreciate the exciting direction our program is headed as we continue our Division I transition.”
Season tickets may be purchased at the UNO Ticket Office at Sapp Fieldhouse, by phone at (402) 554-2001 or online at OmahasTeam.com.
