LINCOLN, Neb. - The Omaha women's golf team is in 11th place after the first two rounds of the Chip-N Club Invitational hosted by Nebraska. The tournament is the first of the season for the Mavericks.
Missouri leads the 13-team event with a score of 611, three strokes clear of Southern Methodist. Iowa and Summit League school North Dakota State are tied for third at 624.
The final round is on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Country Club of Lincoln.
Brooke Thilges and Elizabeth Havekost are tied for the team lead with 36-hole scores of 167, good for a tie for 49th overall. Britany Seda is third for UNO, two strokes behind, and tied for 54th overall. Melyssa Doerr was fourth for the Mavs at 173, one stroke ahead of Sophie Peters who recovered from a 92 in round one to shoot 82 in the second round, tied with Thilges for the best UNO round of the day.
North Dakota State's Amy Anderson leads the field with a two-round total of 147.
